Bananas Foster

A New Orleans legend! Rich and decadent, this will impress and delight young and old alike. Be careful in the kitchen with this one or better yet have someone make it for you!

Ingredients:

4 ripe banana‘s

3/4 cup dark brown sugar

3/4 stick butter (margarine won't work)

1/4 cup Dark Rum

Vanilla or French Vanilla ice cream

Peel and then slice your banana‘s in half length wise. (long and flat) In a heated saucepan combine the brown sugar and the butter. Mix until butter and sugar are melted. (Be careful this is very hot and sticky.)

Next place the sliced banana‘s in the hot mixture and sauté banana‘s for a minute or two on each side. Now carefully pour the dark rum in the pan. Rocking the pan slightly over a gas stove should ignite the rum or use a lighter or match to carefully light the liquor. Remove from heat. Once the alcohol burns off and the flame goes out you are done!

In a bowl or plate place a scoop of vanilla or French vanilla ice cream, place a banana half or two and drizzle a little sauce over the top. Oooooooohhhheeeeeee, that‘s one big enjoy!
